Last Month for the Year

Well here we are getting ready to wrap up a great year! Despite an earthquake, Hurricane Irene, and an early snow storm- it was a great year. The Real Estate market was active at the beach when the reported news of the worlds economy was good, and would slow down when the news took a down turn. We all can deal with a good or bad market economy, but not when the reported news changes daily. So we all sit back and wait for a steady direction to take place so we can make our decisions. We must remember that news is a business, and bad news sells better than good news, that is why it is reported that we have 9% unemployment-instead of reporting we have 91% employment. Or keying on the number of foreclosures, the percentages quoted are always the hardest hit areas of the country. For example, Ocean Citys forclosure rate as of this writing is just above 1%, that means nearly 99% of the owners are making their mortgage payments. I don't want to make light of those suffering with being out of work, or not being able to make their mortgage payments, for the majority this is a real life crisis. I just don't understand how there is 14% of available jobs in the marketplace that are unfilled! It isn't just us small investors waiting, since most corporations and banks are sitiing on gigantic sums of cash just ready to jump back into the markets.

Enough of that, the main event for Ocean City this month is the Winterfest of Lights celebration throughout the Town, with Northside Park @ 136th Street being the focal point with the Tram rides, Santa photos, Hot Chocolate, and thousands of lights in the displays. We like to go to the opening event where the school age children sing Carols, then the Mayor lights the Tree and all of the displays all at once. Have a very Merry Christmas and ENJOY your families!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas-Bing Crosby

Hi, The sights and smells of the season are in the air with fragrance of Pine trees,

shopping for gifts, parties celebrating with beverages and special meals and treats,

visiting with our friends and families. It seems our differences are put on hold

during this time of year, and everyone seems just a little more cheerful.

I enjoy the season for a couple of reasons, the first is that after the 21st of December

the days start getting longer again(a total lunar eclipse of the moon occurs at 12:29

am this year, if you can stay awake for it). The other reason I like this season is

all of the gatherings with Friends and Families, sometimes this is the only time

during the year you get the chance to visit.

Have a Fantastic Holiday Season!

Hello from Ocean City

An Old Italian Proverb says alot about how to live our lives, "At the end of the game
the King and the Pawn
go into the same box"
Have we finally made the "Turn" as thought by many in the months past, including myself? Hope so. The Numbers indicate that it keeps getting better and better. Stock market has regained much of the suffered losses, and Real Estate here at the Beach has started to see more buyers picking up some great deals, with some Buyers willing to purchase and not being able to find the property they want.
When the opportunity presents itself,Do Not pass up the chance to VOTE in the upcoming Elections! No speech from me, but it is the only tool we have to obtain the proper representation.
I have already posted the event calander for Ocean City, but one thing I forgot to mention was the new Maryland Law that requires Hand Free Operation of Cell Phones While Driving is law starting October 1st.
Another danger is the mating season for Deer runs between October and December, which means the chance of hitting one with a car is increased-be cautious.
Restaurant deals abound during this Second Season at the Shore, come on down and enjoy with us.
